i regret not asking my mother to stop sooner so i could take a picture of a port a potty that (I SWEAR) was the color of this text. *sniff* we tried to get back to 2nd ct and sherman street so i could get proof that i’d seen it, but it was a no go. *sigh* i have learned my lesson and will not hessitate to scream STOP! next time. (oh, and i also saw a street named “fairy” but i couldn’t take a picture fast enough and couldn’t get her to turn around) 
me: grandpa, “what trilogy was ‘book of the millennium,’ in an amazon.com reader poll?”
grandpa: *lol* oh…harry potter!
me: grandpa, that’s 7 books, this is a trilogy. think! they made movies out of them! there were hobbits!
grandpa: *lol*
me: it’s called the lord of the rings trilogy. so, what’s the name of the trilogy?
grandpa: honey, *lol* i wouldn’t know the name of that trilogy if you told me!
me: *rofl* *lmao* I JUST DID! so, yeah, literally you are right! you wouldn’t know!
we played trivial pursuit tonight…so freaking hilarious. my grandfather cried he was laughing so hard! here are some highlights of my interaction with him:
me: grandpa “what sport is played with a three-pound hockey puck?”
him: hmm…hockey…hmmm
me: ok, what would a 3 pound puck do?
everyone around: SIIIINNNNKKKKK
him: oh…i don’t know…
everyone: siiiiiinnnnkkkk
me: ok 3 pounds is heavy…what would that do?
him: hmm…
everyone: sink in water!
him: hmmm…
me: ok, grandpa, *lol* ok, WHAT would be the purpose of using a HOCKEY puck that is 3 POUNDS?
him: oooh! i don’t know!!
everyone: siiiiiinnkkkkk
me: ok, if the puck were in water and it sank, what would it be?
him: underwater
me: ok, and what is a hockey puck used for?
him: hockey
me: ok, put those together!!!!
everyone: UNDERWATER HOCKEY!
him: oh, underwater hockey?
everyone: *lol*
ok, here’s when he cried:
me: OH!! grandpa! “what deputy headmistress teaches transfiguration at hogwarts?” repeat after me, “minerva mcgonagall”.
him: *lol*

me: mi…ner…va….mc…gon…a…gall…
him: *lmao* *rofl* *wipes eyes*
me: just say it!!!! minerva mcgonagall!!!!
him: *lol* minerva mcgonagall!!!
….it was flippin hilarious! he was literally wiping the tears from his eyes cause he thought it was such a funny name. and i think the fact that he had professed how much he thought harry potter was silly played into it. my grandpa is so funny. when we were watching order of the phoenix last night, i heard my aunt behind me say “dad, what are you doing?” i turned around to see my grandfather sitting at the counter with his back to the tv just looking at the ground. he said “oh, that movie is just silly” and he procedded to just look at the floor patiently until it was over. just sitting in a chair doing nothing. NOTHING FOLKS!! he is ca ray zay! but in a good way. he cracks me up!
i’m off to florida today to see mom. just in time too as it has started to snow in the great city of clarksville. ew.
i am going to have fantastic chocolate and my grandma to make me an endless plate of grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches.
i am also happy to announce that i have been sticking to my new years resolution. it’s the most popular one out there folks! eating better and getting in shape. so far i have been eating a lot more fresh foods, weighing portions, and working out several times a week. i gotta tell you though, those first few days were hard, but once i got over them, it has been full speed ahead. i am no longer tempted to make a meal out of a bag of movie popcorn (butter and salt layered through). i feel so much better too. i am in a better mood, i have more energy, and i just feel…well, better. i feel more flexible, my back doesn’t hurt as much, and my joints don’t lock up as much either. pretty good stuff.

if you go to see cloverfield take Dramamine! we had to leave after about 30 minutes because i was almost throwing up and istopher had a headache. i understand that they were trying to have realistic camera shots for how people would react if a monster attacked their city, but the majority of the film was just swishy/blurry lines of someone moving the camera to and fro very quickly. there was nothing to focus on and i found myself unable to watch the screen because i was getting dizzy.
and hey, i know i haven’t been posting much. it was the first week back and i’ve started several new projects (like “project get mel’s bum in the gym”). i promise to write and post a plethora of pictures soon. very soon. maybe tomorrow. but don’t hold your breath.
